SMM February 17 News: The rare earth market showed an overall weak sentiment today. Specifically, the price of Pr-Nd oxide dropped to 433,000-434,000 yuan/mt, while dysprosium oxide and terbium oxide remained stable at 1.71-1.72 million yuan/mt and 6.1-6.13 million yuan/mt, respectively. Meanwhile, the price of gadolinium oxide decreased to 160,000-165,000 yuan/mt, holmium oxide stayed at 470,000-476,000 yuan/mt, and erbium oxide held steady at 293,000-297,000 yuan/mt.
In the metals market, the price of Pr-Nd alloy fell to 533,000-537,000 yuan/mt, dysprosium-iron alloy remained at 1.68-1.7 million yuan/mt, and terbium metal stabilized at 7.55-7.6 million yuan/mt. The price of gadolinium-iron dropped to 160,000-162,000 yuan/mt, while lanthanum-cerium metal stayed at 17,000-19,000 yuan/mt. At the beginning of the week, the overall atmosphere in the rare earth market was subdued, with low activity in market inquiries and offers, limited trading volume, and a strong wait-and-see sentiment as the market awaited further release of downstream demand.
